Chequers is Fareham College’s very own silver service training restaurant that offers restaurant-quality food at a snippet of the regular price.

The restaurant has recently been refurbished to a high standard and is run by the College’s Catering and Hospitality students, who not only develop and prepare the gourmet food on offer, but also provide first-rate customer service. The students are taught and supervised by a number of highly-skilled catering and hospitality professionals.

The popular and extensive lunchtime menu means that you can dine in style, choosing from a wide range of mouth-watering luxury courses. All of which are fantastic value for money. With a licensed bar serving extremely competitively priced drinks alongside your meal, it’s the perfect place to come with friends, family and colleagues or for an original business lunch.

Diploma1 menu served by our full-time first year students will be offered on Monday, Tuesday and Friday lunchtimes 11.45am – 2pm (last orders 12.45pm). Two courses available for £7.50 and three courses for £9.50 including tea or coffee.

Diploma 2 menu Our full-time second year students will offer their evening services on Tuesday evenings from 6.30 – 9pm (last orders at 7.30pm). Two courses available for £10.95 and three courses for £12.95 including tea or coffee.

NVQ1 menu Served by students from the Air Cabin Crew course and cooked by pupils on day-release from school, a “Come Fly With Me” 2 course light lunch will be available from 11.45am (last orders at 12.15pm) on Thursday lunchtimes at a cost of £6.00.

NVQ3 menu Cooked by the Advanced Craft students and served by Level 3 Hospitality Supervision students, a Fine Dining À la Carte menu will be offered on Thursday evenings from 6.30 – 9pm (last orders at 7.30pm).

Theme Nights

All are at 7pm and are priced at £18.95 for 4 courses to include an arrival cocktail - £5.00 pp deposit required to secure the booking.

The restaurant can be booked by large groups for private dinners and functions.

Chequers Coffee Shop

The coffee shop is also managed by the college’s Catering and Hospitality students. It offers an affordable selection of delicious filled baguettes, burgers, snacks and hot drinks throughout the morning and lunchtime.
