Governing Body

Fareham College has a Corporation comprising 16 members which guides and monitors the strategic direction of the College. The Governors are professional individuals from different areas of industry outside the College, with broad and diverse skills and expertise. All Governors are very committed to the College and have established close working links with the College’s Executive Team, although they are not involved in the day-to-day operations. Staff and Student members also serve on the Corporation and their views and perspective are invaluable. There are currently 2 Student Members and 2 Staff Members (one Teaching Staff and one Support Staff).
The Corporation believes that its business is open to public scrutiny and, with the exception of those items of business which are deemed to be confidential as defined within the Instrument of Government (e.g. the pay and remuneration of an individual), its policy is that the Corporation meetings are open meetings. Papers and minutes of the Corporation are published in accordance with the arrangements outlined in the Corporation’s Standing Orders (Section 10 refers).
It is Fareham College’s wish that the information provided below about the governance of the College be included on the public website in the interest of greater openness and transparency with the exception of those items specifically designated as confidential.
