Manufacturing has traditionally been considered to be a process that turns raw materials into physical products, but nowadays the physical part of production is at the centre of a much wider value chain. Manufacturing will continue to become more highly skills; in the years to 2020 there will be around 800,000 jobs to fill in Britain as people retire or leave manufacturing, taking their experience with them.

Manufacturing courses are both academic and practical, taught in well-equipped workshops with a wide range of industry-standard machine tools. Our teachers are vocational experts and use their skills and experience very effectively to motivate and support students to achieve.
After completing a manufacturing course at CEMAST, you could choose from a wide variety of roles, including:
- CNC machine operator
- Design engineer
- Maintenance engineer
- Production technician
- Craft machinist
- Sheer metal worker
- Plant operations technician
A full CEMAST uniform and safety equipment must be purchased by new students when they join. This will include overalls, steel toe cap safety shoes, safety glasses and a polo shirt to be worn when on campus.
