Budding Young Entrepreneurs
The Marriott Hotel Portsmouth was the impressive venue for the first Fareham College Young Chamber Business Conference for local Schools on July 2nd The full day event was attended by 60 pupils from Brookfield, Bay House, and Cowplain Schools. With local business speakers, and an engaging competitive activity about product branding. Pupils worked in teams to create a product, brand it and design packaging and advertising - and a great job they did too. Pupils said.... “activities were fun and relevant” - “guest speakers were interesting” - “great day with lots to keep me interested” - “really wanting to win the prizes” - “good day with friends learning about business” - “found the activities relevant to careers I might like to pursue after school and college” Brands created by teams included: Cool Beanz - Baked beans in new and novel packaging. Smile & Shine - Toothpaste and mouthwash in innovative packaging.

ENGINEERS SET SAIL
Fareham College full time Engineering students took part in a rigorous but fun team-building exercise out in the Solent. This event, now in its second year, has again proven to be a great hit with students and staff. For students, a great opportunity to bond with other engineering trainees, as well as experiencing a demanding and thrilling adventure on the Solent. For staff, the event is designed to build team working, discipline, physical and mental skills in the students, helping them to cope with the challenges of a demanding course.

RAF presents Fareham College Uniformed Services students with Rucksacks for Duke of Edinburgh Award training.
15 Uniformed Services students at Fareham College were recently presented with RAF service-standard rucksacks to support their working towards Duke of Edinburgh Awards. The First and National Diploma students have many physical and mental challenges presented to them in their course, as well as in their participation on the Duke of Edinburgh Award programme, and so the rucksacks are a really special and practical gift for them...(Click the headline to read more)
