Communication

How does the College communicate with parents and carers?

Fareham College recognises the important support parents and guardians offer their sons or daughters and communicates in a variety of ways with them. These usually include:

  • Opportunities for parents to attend interviews
  • Learner Progress Reviews posted to parents
  • Parents’ Evenings
  • Invitations to attend meetings with Personal Tutors where concerns have been raised (progress, behaviour, commitment, attendance, disciplinary action etc.)

The College will always seek to keep parents informed about any issues affecting students.

Parents/guardians should feel free to contact the Personal Tutor, in the first instance, if they wish todiscuss their son/daughters progress or other matters.

Fareham College will work with you to ensure that thereis clear and consistent communication with staff.

We welcome any input from you to enable us to support you son or daughter to achieve their full potential.

Please note that due to Safeguarding and Data Protection reasons the College can only provide information relating to students to their immediate next of kin. When parents are separated or divorced we may not be able to share information with a parent with whom the student does not live or if the student is aged 18+ and requests that the College does not shareinformation.

The College is also establishing a parents Liaison group. Should you require any further advice orinformation relating to this please contact the Student Services Manager on 01329 815 200.
