Student Support
What guidance and support is available for students and parents/carers?
Whilst your son or daughter, tutor or teachers can help with most issues and enquiries they can also count on the support of the Student Support Team. This Department has relocated to new purpose built resources on the first floor of our central building.
This new College development has seen the creation of The John Tilt Student Services Centre with the Health and Wellbeing Centre where students can access support relating to health, welfare, pastoral care, EMA and general help with enquiries.
The Centre includes our Learning Resources Centre which itself has been refurbished and improved to provide an increase in resources and learning opportunities for students, including WiFi access and new e-learning resources.
The Student Support Team are available Mon–Thurs: 8:30am to 5:00pm and Fri: 8:30am to 4:30pm.
If your son or daughter requires support to address issues not necessarily related to college life, they can book appointments with our dedicated and supportive pastoral staff. Pastoral Support is offered including counselling support from organisations that specialise in helping to support young people.
We also have a Multi-Faith College Chaplain who is available to offer a support to any student issue.
We have recruited a registered nurse as our Health and Wellbeing Coordinator to lead the development of our services relating to the physical and emotional health and well-being of students.
These services are supported by Sex Sense which is an agency who provide free and confidential information and advice for young people on all aspects of sexual health, relationships and other associated issues.
Staff from Sex Sense are available on campus every week. Please contact 01329 815 200 for more information or call Sex Sense direct on 023 9286 6301.
