Student Liaison Committee

The Student Liaison Committee is the key link between the student body and College's Senior Management Team and provides students with a forum to openly discuss issues, ideas and concerns with the relevant college managers.

Each Tutor Group nominates a Tutor Representative who attends a Student Conference in September of each year.  At this conference students will undertake various activities and workshops designed to enable student ideas to be put forward but also enable them to develop their skills and knowledge.

The Tutor Reps are then invited to put themselves forward to act as the Representative for their department.  Students from each department then elect their representatives via a ballot.  The elected students then form the Student Liaison Committee.  In addition to regularly meeting with College Managers they also undertake Focus Group activities and Student Ambassadors roles.

From within the Student Liaison Committee an Exectutive Group is formed and is led by a President and Vice-President.

Students actively contribute to three Conferences each year and also participate in our quality assurance reviews.

Student feedback is at the centre of the majoirty of key decisions in the college and the work of the Student Liaison Committee has resulted in substantial investment in services and resources for students, most recently developments to Student Services, the Learning Resources Centre, Cafe and Social Areas, Student Theatre and Changing Facilities.
