Advice & Guidance is a free and confidential service recognising equality and diversity. So whether you're a pupil at a local school starting to think about your options or career ideas, unemployed and looking for help with your career and improving your skills and qualifications, an employed person who is keen to develop new skills or change careers, or someone who is just looking to take a course in a subject of interest, the Advice & Guidance team is here to help.

Advice & Guidance at Fareham College was awarded a Matrix Quality Standard, an official stamp of approval from the Department for Education and Skills, for the high quality of information, advice and guidance provided to both students and potential students. Once enrolled at the college, all students also benefit from the well established College Careers programme. This includes careers and Higher Education fairs, workshops and support in applying to Higher Education and work. There is also help with interview techniques, CV preparation, and much more.

Students who think they might like to change courses can also discuss their options with an experienced member of the Advice & Guidance team. Our Student Services Team has a wealth of experience in advising both current and future students on a variety of issues, including course choices and welfare issues.

The Student Services Team pride themselves on offering a friendly, informal, yet professional service aimed at helping you meet your needs. Student Services offer one to one support in addition to your tutorial programme and can also arrange independent counselling support for students in need of such services. Careers and recreational advice and guidance are available at Fareham College from Connexions.

Our progression programme also includes workshops on CV writing, university applications and job searches. There is also a range of careers and progression events aimed at helping students to plan their next steps upon leaving college. For help from the Student Services Team simply call in at the College Reception.
