Learning Resources Centre

The centrally located LRC provides a wealth of information in a variety of forms including printed, electronic and audiovisual.

Resources available include book and material loans, assistance with research, photocopying and sales of essential stationery.

A member of staff from Hampshire Connexions also offers careers advice every day for students wanting to go on to Higher Education or into employment. Advice is also available for CV writing, job applications and interviews.

The LRC has benefitted from significant investment in August 2010 and now boasts 140 PCs, many of which are brand new. These provide Internet access and a wide range of software including Microsoft Office. Internet access is provided for research rather than leisure purposes.

The College has WiFi across campus and students are welcome to bring in their own mobile devices including netbooks and smartphones. Further guidance on how to link to our wireless server is available from the LRC Team.

Other facilities available in the LRC include support and assistance with computer accounts, software queries, hardware problems, scanning, colour printing, playing DVDs, CD writing and course-related magazines and daily newspapers.

All students are encouraged to make use of these extensive facilities and staff are always very willing to help and offer advice.
