Employee Benefits
Fareham College offers a number of excellent benefits to all employees:
Holiday
You'll appreciate our generous leave entitlements of 50 days per annum for Lecturing staff, 30 days per annum for Support staff and 35 days for Management staff, all in addition to the Statutory Bank Holidays. These are some of the highest entitlements for annual leave in the sector.
Pensions
The College operates two pension schemes. The Hampshire County Council (Local Government Pension) scheme is available to all employees in a support function. The Teachers Pension Scheme is for all lecturing employees and operates nationwide. The employee contributions are dependant upon the employee's salary and are an average 6.5% with employer contributions set at around 16%.

On site Free Car Parking
We operate a free car park for employees and students at both our Bishopsfield Road Campus and at Gosport College.
Work Life Balance Support
We understand that situations arise where employees need time away from work which may include bereavement, emergency time off for dependants or time off for public duties, in addition to leave such as Maternity, Paternity & Parental Leave. Fareham College has an extensive Work Life Balance Support Policy which explains the support the College can offer to you in these circumstances.
Staff Development
In addition to mandatory training, our Human Resources Department work in partnership with your management team to ensure that you have all the information you need to know about how to develop yourself and your career. The College holds two training events for all employees during the year, encompassing both internal and external speakers and activities to support on-going professional development. Every employee is entitled to undertake one free short course offered at the College each year.
Where to eat
Fareham College offers a range of places to eat across its campus, including The Bistro (every Friday) and Chequers Restaurant - our very own silver service training restaurant which offers high quality food at a fraction of the regular price.
College Gym
If you enjoy keeping fit, the College Gym has recently been updated to include some state-of-the-art fitness equipment. This is currently available for employees to use for free (after deposit of £15 is paid for an electronic key).
Employee Assistance Programme
We offer this entirely confidential service to all employees which includes:
- Telephone or on-line counselling
- Advice and guidance on subjects from debt management to specialist legal information
- Face to face counselling offered within 10 miles of your home address
- Discounted Nursery
Kidz Inc Nursery is based on the College Campus at Bishopsfield Road, and is independently run, OFSTED registered and staffed by qualified staff. The Nursery cares for children between the ages of 3 months and 5 years. Employees of Fareham College are entitled to receive a 10% discount on nursery fees.
Discounted Medical Insurance
We support a 20% discount for BUPA services for all employees.
Childcare Voucher Scheme

Fareham College STAR Awards
Celebrations of our success are held at our annual Star Awards which is a fantastic event where individuals and teams are congratulated for their hard work and commitment. These awards are presented to employees and teams who have received nominations from across the College and are a true celebration of achievement.
