16 to 19 Tuition Fund

Fareham College prides itself on being inclusive and welcomes the additional 16-19 tuition fund support. The College has a robust procedure for working with its local schools, other providers and agencies to ascertain information about students before they enrol with us, alongside a robust admissions process that provides rigorous information on students starting points, including their maths and English prior attainment and identifies students that would benefit from further support, guidance and interventions.

We have invested heavily in our wider support services for 2021/22, recognising the impact COVID-19 has presented to our students. From September 2021, every full time student will benefit from the support of a Success Coach, who will track and monitor the students learning journey and provide support and intervention for those students identified through the robust admission process as requiring support. These teams will also identify students who may require further intervention, whilst tracking and monitoring student progress. This, coupled with increased investment in health and well-being and SEND services, will ensure all students receive the very best support from the moment they enrol at Fareham College.

Maths coaches, funded through the Maths Centre for Excellence, have also been introduced to provide small group / individual intervention for students identified as requiring additional support to make the expected progress.

All these significant College developments will drive improvements to students’ self-esteem, resilience and motivation, whilst supporting improvements to students’ outcomes, including their successful progression.

The impact of the Student Tuition Fund will be monitored through progress and destination measures of students with lower than a grade 4 in English and/or maths on entry and reported by the Senior Leadership Team to the College Governors.
