Applying for a Full Time Course

While we do not have a hard deadline for applications, we encourage you to apply sooner rather than later as popular courses do fill up quickly. Whichever course you are applying for, at whatever level, there is lots of support, advice and guidance available to help you decide which choice is best for you.

Once you have submitted your application online, we will be in contact with you via letter to arrange an informal pre-interview between you and one of our Careers Centre Advisors. This is an opportunity to discuss your plans for the future and the various course options you are interested in.

Don’t worry if you’re torn between a number of courses, we’ll make sure that you find the path that’s the best fit for you, your aspirations and the grades you’re hoping to achieve.

In the spring term, we will also ask your school or previous college for a reference.

Due to the current situation caused by COVID-19, we encourage you to attend your interview on your own or with one other family member/guardian. If you would prefer for your interview to take place over the phone, please contact the relevant Careers Centre Advisor stated on your interview letter.

Following your interview with the Careers Centre Advisor you will be invited to attend an Intro Session for your chosen course. This is the second part of your application and vital to secure a place. Your Careers Centre Advisor will give you a paper invitation, so make sure to keep this safe.

Once you have had your pre-interview and attended your Intro Session, we will send your conditional offer letter to you in the post. This conditional offer is subject to a satisfactory reference from your school or previous college.

Please also be aware that for certain subjects you may need to submit a portfolio or audition before we can offer you a conditional place, your Careers Centre Advisor will discuss this in more detail at interview.

During the spring term, you will receive information about travel and financial assistance that may be available. During the summer term you will receive further details about Freshers Induction Day and the Enrolment process.

Your Freshers Induction Day has been planned for Thursday 7th July 2022. This will be an opportunity for you to come in and meet lecturers, peers and ask any further questions you may have about starting with us at Fareham College

Enrolment is the final step in your application process prior to you joining the College in September. During this stage you will confirm your place on your chosen course before receiving your College ID and timetable. Attendance at Enrolment is compulsory and will take place at the end of August 2022.

Our autumn term starts week commencing Monday 5th September 2022, you will meet your lecturers and other students on your course.

You will receive your kit/ uniform lists prior to your start date, however, on your first day, you should receive your full timetable.

Due to the current situation caused by COVID-19, we are strictly following government guidance. Should there be any changes that you need to be aware of, we will contact you.
