Introduction

In partnership with The Solent Civil Engineering Employers’ Group, Fareham College offers an exciting Apprenticeship programme designed to prepare young people and adults for a career in civil engineering occupations. 

The Civil Engineering and Groundworks Apprenticeship (CEGA) will enable participants to develop the skills needed to work in a diverse range of construction sites, while being paid a wage and gaining a recognised qualification.

Apprenticeships at CETC

If you want a career in construction and have energy and enthusiasm, the Civil Engineering and Groundworks Apprenticeship will help you develop the skills required to work on a variety of commercial and industrial building sites, while being paid and gaining a recognised qualification. 

If you’re already working on site and want to gain a formalised qualification to develop your skills for future progression, this apprenticeship could be suitable for you too. Places on this apprenticeship programme are in high demand so you must be willing to demonstrate your commitment to training and pursuing a career in the construction industry.

Rates of Pay

Apprenticeships enable students to earn a wage while gaining their qualification. Rates of pay vary depending upon age but are highly competitive in comparison to other Apprenticeship schemes and jobs in different industries.

Under 18 Training: £240 p/wk | Site Rate: £320 p/wk
Over 18 Training: £320 p/wk | Site Rate: £400 p/wk

Bonuses are also available for full completion of all qualifications during the CETC Training Period and for holding a full valid Driving Licence when moving from CETC Training to site work.

Travel Support

For the duration of the 20-week training course at CETC in Lee-on-the-Solent, and the duration of the apprenticeship, a daily travel allowance will be provided. 

Partners involved in delivering the apprenticeship have sites across Hampshire, so every effort will be made to ensure apprentices are based on a site within a reasonable distance to their home locality.
