Russell was appointed to the Corporation in December 2010 and is currently the Chairman of Condor Ferries. With his extensive business experience and financial acumen he brings a valuable strategic, corporate and local employer perspective to the work of the Board.

Nigel Duncan

Principal & Chief Executive

Nigel was appointed as Principal and Chief Executive in March 2012. In that role has the executive strategic responsibility for the quality of the College’s provision, the financial integrity of the business and the safety of all that use the College. As the Principal Nigel serves on the Corporation and is a member of all Corporation Committees, except the Audit Committee.

Peter Grimwood

Vice-Chair of the Corporation

Peter was appointed to the Board in June 2012. As the Chief Executive Officer of Fareham Borough Council he has extensive public sector experience, having entered Local Government in 1983, and brings invaluable community knowledge and perspective to the work of the Corporation.  Peter currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the Finance & Resources Committee.

Pauline Tilt

Member of Teaching, Students, Curriculum & Quality Committee 

Governors were delighted to appoint Pauline to the Board in June 2012.  Until recently, Pauline was a Magistrate in Adult and Youth Court and Chair of the S & SE Hampshire Youth Panel.  With this experience she brings a wealth of understanding and knowledge of the welfare, guidance and development of young people from very different backgrounds.

Pauline currently serves on the Teaching, Students, Curriculum and Quality Committee of the Corporation and is the Chair of the Wellbeing Committee, an internal College Committee responsible for oversight of Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity and Safeguarding related matters.

Jan Lancaster

Learning Support Manager & Support Staff Governor

Jan was appointed as the Support Staff Member in December 2011. She is currently the Manager of the Learning Support department which she describes as a large and proactive cross-college support team that focus on the welfare and support of students with learning difficulties and disabilities. Jan strongly believes in equality and opportunity for all and brings a useful perspective to the Board as Staff Governor.

Chris Thomas

Member of Audit Committee

Governors appointed Chris Thomas, who is currently the Clerk to the William Price Charitable Trust, in December 2014. Chris spent 20+ years in the Royal Navy and, since retirement, has undertaken a number of Clerking roles. His experience and knowledge of financial management, personnel issues and facility management bring a valuable perspective to the work of the Board.

Alastair Ramsay

Governor

Alastair was originally appointed as an Associate Governor in December 2014 and has since been confirmed as a full member of the Board in June 2016.  He is currently the Head Teacher at West Hill Park School in Titchfield. His 20 years’ experience in education, his insight into local educational issues and his knowledge of inspection bring an invaluable perspective to the work of the Board.

Karen Woods

Member of Finance & Resources Committee

Karen was appointed to the Board in April 2014 and as a journalist and broadcaster has worked in news, communications and training for more than 30 years. She has free-lanced for the BBC and many independent local radio providers. She currently serves on the Finance & Resources Committee.

Mike Mansergh

Member of Finance & Resources Committee

Mike was appointed to the Board as a full Governor in April 2014. He was originally appointed as an Associate Governor in December 2012 as a co-opted member of the Property Strategy Group. He retired from the Royal Navy in March 2014 and is currently Head of Corporate Business Development (Maritime) for Lockheed Martin UK.

Emma Champion

Member of Teaching, Students, Curriculum & Quality Committee

Emma was appointed to the Corporation in July 2014. Having secured a First Class Honours Degree in Criminology and Forensic Studies, she is currently employed by Hampshire Constabulary in Winchester as an Analyst for the International Criminal Conviction Exchange.

Kevin Briscoe

Member of Teaching, Students, Curriculum & Quality Committee

Kevin was appointed to the Board in April 2014. He is currently a Director of Briscoe French, a PR and media relations agency based in Fareham, and brings invaluable PR/marketing skills and expertise to the Board. Kevin was made a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations for his outstanding contribution to the CIPR and the Public Relations industry.

Mark Hoban

Associate Governor

Mark was appointed to the Board as an Associate Governor in December 2015. Formerly an MP and Government Minister (Employment and Finance Secretary to the Treasury), Mark now has a portfolio career in Financial Services.

Adam Spires

Chair of Audit

Adam was appointed to the Board in December 2015. He is currently a Senior Audit Manager at BDO and, during his career, he has gained considerable experience of public sector bodies. He is a qualified Accountant and he brings invaluable Financial / Audit and Risk Management expertise to the Board. He serves on the Audit Committee and was elected Chair of this Committee in March 2016.

Paul Marchbank

Member of Teaching, Students, Curriculum and Quality Committee

Paul was appointed to the Board in June 2017 and is currently the Director for the School of Media Arts and Technology at Southampton University.  His extensive H.E education knowledge and experience bring a valuable perspective to the work of the Board.  With this in mind, Paul was invited to serve on the Teaching, Students, Curriculum and Quality Committee of the Corporation.
