Linking practice to theory is at its core, this course is ideal for passionate and committed early years’ practitioners. It combines practical, work related skills with the theories and viewpoints of psychology, history, culture, sociology and social policy, to understand how children learn and develop from a wider perspective. You will advance your skills in both critical analysis and reflection and independent thinking.

Year 1 modules:

  • Introduction to Early Years
  • Child development in the Early Years
  • Children’s rights
  • Play, creativity, expressive arts
  • Reflective practitioner: babies, toddlers and pre-school
  • Safeguarding and integrated working in Early Years.

Year 2 modules:

  • Understanding children’s behaviour
  • Curriculums around the world in the Early Years
  • Working with families in the Early Years
  • SEND in Early Years
  • Importance of research in Early Years
  • Health & wellbeing of young children.

Tuition fees are payable for all Higher Education courses and the fee for this course is displayed in the information above. This can be paid for in a number of ways:

• HE Loan (or Advanced Learner Loan for some courses)
• Instalment Plan
• Lump sum

HE Loans are easy to apply for and you won’t have to pay anything back until you’re earning over £25,000.

If you applying for our Level 4 Creative Enterprise Diploma, there may be no fees to pay if you are under 19 at the start of the course.
