Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements for this course. The qualification is suited for those who are already working in finance or are self-employed and want to learn how to manage their own bookkeeping.


The qualification will equip you with the skills and essential knowledge to manage books effectively. It focuses on developing your bookkeeping and basic accounting skills including manual double-entry bookkeeping, and associated documents and processes up to trial balance standard.

During this course, you will study a range of topics, including:

  • Basic accounting
  • Working with control accounts
  • Processing Journals up to trial balance


You will be assessed throughout the course by both computer-based exams and assignments.


Successful completion of this course provides the opportunity to progress on to employment in roles such as clerical assistant, accounts clerk, finance assistant and accounts administrator.
