Entry Requirements

There are no entry requirements for this course.


This will provide a full day’s course covering all aspects of food safety.

The course content will include all key information including:

  • laws that apply to food businesses and food handlers
  • the requirements of the current regulations
  • concepts of food hazards and how the risk of food poisoning can be contained
  • how food handlers can pose a risk to food safety
  • appropriate storage conditions for different types of food
  • cleaning in food premises
  • standards for structure and equipment to promote good hygiene in food premises.


You will be given a course handbook and a varied delivery including presentations, case studies and professional discussions. You will be assessed by a short exam at the end of the day’s course.


This is a recognised qualification in the catering industry that is required for anyone working with food.
