Course Details

Entry Requirements

You must have achieved a Level 2 accounting or bookkeeping qualification, or be able to demonstrate a competent knowledge and understanding of double-entry book-keeping and basic accounting functions.


This unit focuses on developing advanced double entry skills.

The unit will cover;

  • Applying the principles of advanced double entry bookkeeping
  • Implementing procedures for the acquisition and disposal of non-current assets
  • Preparing and recording depreciation calculations
  • Recording period end adjustments
  • Producing and extending the trial balance

Delivery Model

This course offers two options:

  1. Weekly daytime attendance on a Thursday for 7-9 weeks.
  2. The course is delivered through an online learning environment and supported by contact with a tutor with the option to attend a daytime revision session.

Induction takes place Thursday 4th April. Exams are taken at the college by way of computer-based assessment and are available with both daytime and evening sittings. Duration 7-9 weeks.

Please note that course fees do not include the membership fee to the Association of Accounting Technicians. This is a requirement of the course and an additional cost that should be allowed for.
