Key figures in world economics, including Prime Minister Theresa May, have cited the importance of the development of cyber skills to Britain’s future, and to ensuring that organisations are future-proofed against digital change and attack.
This course has been designed to equip you with a knowledge and understanding of the range of threats, vulnerabilities and risks that can impact both individuals and organisations. You will learn about the solutions available to prevent or deal with cyber security incidents resulting from these challenges.
Following on from the topics you learn, you will then be able to apply your knowledge and understanding of cyber security issues and solutions by reviewing and making recommendations for ways to best protect digital systems and information. You will look at how cyber forensic examinations are carried out and implement best practice in carrying out their own examination.
The course will also examine how the connected world has had an impact on cyber security through networking units as well as the analysis and design of data.
This course opens up employment opportunities in the growing data forensics sector as well as general IT jobs. There is also the option to progress on to an Apprenticeship or join the second year of the Extended Diploma in Computing & Game Development.
