Entry Requirements

Five GCSEs at grade 9-4 including English and Maths, or a full Level 2 qualification with a merit profile and grades 9-4 in GCSE English and Maths.


This course will introduce you to a wide variety of elements that encompass the travel and tourism industry, including marketing, events and conferences, ski chalet hosting, business travel, the cruise industry and working as an overseas representative.

You will undertake a week of industry-related work experience and in year two, will assist in the running of the AA College Rosette Accredited Restaurant, Avenue 141. As part of your studies, you will also attend educational day visits to major UK cities and attractions and take part in a two night UK residential trip.

In addition, there is an opportunity to achieve ‘accredited status’ offered through Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA).

Next Steps

On successful completion of this course you could progress on to university to study Travel and Tourism or Hospitality Management. Past students have been offered opportunities with Virgin Atlantic, STA Travel, Thomas Cook and The Solent Hotel. You could also become employed in areas such as tour operations, travel agencies, hotels and resorts, event management, airlines, cruising, customer service and more.
