Level 3 Course

Extended Diploma in Uniformed Public Services

Two Years – Full time

Entry Requirements

Five GCSEs at grade 9-4 including English and Maths, or a full Level 2 qualification with a merit profile and grades 9-4 in GCSE English and Maths.

This two year course will provide you with a broad understanding of how the public services are funded and run, together with the roles and responsibilities that are required in each of these areas.

You will also develop your physical fitness, levels of self-discipline and ability to lead others. Interaction with serving public service personnel is a big part of the course as this will give you first-hand experience of what a prospective career in your chosen service may look like.

You will study units such as:

  • Teamwork and leadership
  • Citizenship and diversity in British society
  • Crime scene investigation
  • Improving physical fitness for entry into the services
  • Planning and management of major incidents
  • Land navigation by map and compass
  • Outdoor adventurous activities

There will be opportunities to attend a wide-range of team building activities, and take part in off-campus visits to related organisations such as the Police and Fire Service, Army, RAF, Royal Navy and the Royal Marines, as well as other public services.
