Diploma in IT User Support
One Year – Full time
Five GCSEs at grade 9-4 including English and Maths, or a full Level 2 qualification with a merit profile and grades 9-4 in GCSE English and Maths.
This course is designed to provide you with core knowledge and understanding of IT user support.
During your time on the course you will study how computers and devices communicate and how networks are built and maintained.
You will develop your knowledge of network security and learn how to install and maintain software and support end users.
You will cover a range of topics including:
- Principles of computing
- Communication technologies
- Installing and maintaining software
- System security
- Computer forensic investigation
- Developing and maintaining computer networks
- Supporting end users
Industry-focused assessments, work experience and networking events with employers will be included to enrich your programme of study and support employability.
The course is designed to lead on towork in technical support roles, including help desk operation, customer support, fault finding, building computers, system support or becoming an IT support technician, or network and systems administrator. There is also an opportunity for further study through industry, professional qualifications or Higher Apprenticeships.
