Minimum requirements

  • Level 3 Diploma or A Levels in relevant subjects

If you don’t have the UCAS point requirements, but have appropriate experience, specific knowledge or industry-based qualifications, then your application is welcomed.


The HNC Computing course will provide you with the essential foundation of knowledge and competency needed for a successful career in computing and technology. It will introduce you to – and develop your knowledge of – aspects including software development, technical support, networking and web development.

You will study topics relating to computer systems infrastructure, the fundamentals of computer networks and concepts of programming. You will also look at client-side web development and database design, deployment and analytics.

There will also be a strong focus on employability and professional skills development to ensure you are in the best possible position to progress your career in the IT sector.


Assessment will be through assignments, practical assessment and some examinations. Each outcome or module will be assessed by a project-style assignment.


This course provides opportunities for graduates to enter employment within a range of computing, infrastructure and technology industries, or progress on to a degree course at university.
