Fareham College Level 3 students and staff are today celebrating an outstanding overall advanced level pass rate of 99.4%. Almost half of all students achieved high grades, with just over 50% of those students achieving the highest grade possible.
Fareham College’s Principal and Chief Executive, Andrew Kaye, said: “Huge congratulations to all of our students on another set of fantastic results. As we continue to strive for excellence in everything we do, these results truly reflect the benefits our students gain learning from our industry-experienced teachers, in state-of-the-art facilities. Despite the continued challenges presented by the COVID-19 crisis this academic year, our students’ unfaltering dedication has yet again produced exceptional results.
“Level 3 qualifications have the great advantage of opening the door to different career paths. Many offer the same route into university as A Levels and a number of our students are taking this route in September. Other students are able to take advantage of Fareham College’s close business links and progress straight into employment.”
Maria James, a Level 3 Extended Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering student commented, “I had a really great experience at Fareham College. My lecturers were very helpful and supportive throughout my whole time studying there. The facilities at the College are excellent and allowed us to work on actual aircrafts, enabling us to advance our skills and develop our learning. I will now be going onto study Aeronautics and Astronautics at Southampton University.
Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sports and Physical Activity student, Jack Dimmer added, “I had an outstanding experience at Fareham College. The tutors and teachers are friendly and supportive and create a positive working environment. The gym at the College is of a high standard and is always kept clean and tidy. I am planning to continue my studies at Fareham College and complete further sports qualifications, then hopefully go to Solent University to study Sport Science.”
Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts student, Oscar Flatt, who is hoping to become a professional actor, said, “Studying has been challenging due to COVID, however Fareham College helped me to grow as a performer and really built up my confidence and improve my acting abilities to progress onto Higher Education. I didn’t think I would get to this stage, but I am absolutely delighted to be able to study acting at the University of Winchester, to continue to improve my skills and go onto achieve my dream. I would definitely recommend Fareham College, it has a really great learning environment and fantastic facilities.”
Fareham College’s Deputy Principal, Curriculum, Quality and Innovation, Christian Allen-Kotze, added, “Our T Level students have also produced exceptional results at the end of the first year of their studies, achieving a 100% achievement rate in the Digital Production, Design and Development T Level. Alongside the existing T Levels we already offer in Education and Childcare and Digital Design, Production and Development, we are offering two further Digital T Levels from this September; Digital Business Services and Digital Support Services, as well as T Levels in Health, Healthcare Science, Science, Design, Surveying and Planning and On-site Construction.”
