Covid continues to be a cause for concern, but it seems to be a much improved picture and we are optimistic the academic year ahead will see college life largely return to normal. However, we will continue to follow current guidance to keep our college community safe.

Lateral Flow Testing

Please can you ensure that you take two lateral flow tests before commencing your college course in September. While not mandatory, we strongly urge you to take these tests to help keep our college community safe. You can request lateral flow test kits for free by calling 119 or order online at gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests

Self-Isolation Protocols

Current guidance has changed the self-isolation protocols, therefore close contacts with a positive case, provided they are ‘double-jabbed’ or under 18, no longer need self-isolate, instead they are recommended to take a PCR test. Full details can be read here – When to self-isolate and what to do – Coronavirus (COVID-19) – NHS (www.nhs.uk).

Vaccination Programme
Young adults aged 16-18 years are eligible for the vaccination programme. We strongly encourage you to take part, so that as the term progresses most staff and students are vaccinated.

Masks
Masks are no longer mandatory however if you feel that you would like to wear a mask then please feel free to do so. Masks are a personal choice, and we respect the decision to wear one if you feel safer to do so.

Lanyards
It is mandatory to wear your college lanyard at all times so we can ensure that those onsite should be onsite and continue to keep our college community safe. All returning students will need to bring their old lanyards with them as these will not be replaced.

Please continue to check your college emails and social media channels for any further updates.
