Full Time Courses

Whether you want to work for a salon or spa, or set up your own business, our Beauty Therapy students are highly successful in achieving their career ambitions.

You’ll learn how to deliver a wide variety of different treatments at a range of levels, in areas including massage, skincare, body treatments, make-up application and nail services, and will study the essential anatomy, physiology and safe working practices required to work at the highest professional level.

Course Facilities

Fareham College has some of the best beauty training facilities in the area. Our newly developed spacious salons provide a relaxing and industry-standard environment in which to train.

Facilities and equipment includes:

  • Full air-conditioned salon with partitioned treatment bays and couches
  • Dedicated make-up area
  • Nail bar for gel and acrylic application
  • Hot stone body massage equipment
  • Portable spray tanning booths
  • Leading product lines, including the Dermalogica professional range
  • Industry-standard equipment needed for facial, tanning and body treatments
  • Electrolysis systems for face and body electrical treatments

Once you have completed your training you will be qualified to go on to perform a range of exciting roles including:

  • Beauty consultant or sales/marketing rep for product manufacturers

Depending on the path you follow, you could work in a variety of different venues, organisations and locations, including on cruise liners, in health hydros, spas, or even in TV/film production or magazine media!

An apprenticeship in Beauty Therapy provides you with the best possible training to develop skills that are in high demand. You will have a full-time job and earn a wage working in your field of interest. You will also attend College, usually for a day a week to gain a nationally recognised qualification and essential competencies.

Through our apprenticeship training you will work in a professional salon environment where you will undertake duties across many areas of beauty therapy. You will become skilled in the delivery of holistic and contemporary treatments, and will learn about the operational practices needed to support the success of the salon or spa.

Trips & Visits

You will have the opportunity to go on trips to a range of beauty trade shows and exhibitions including Salon International and Professional Beauty, London. You will also visit commercial salons to see the industry in full operation.

The opportunity to attend masterclasses with experts from various well-known companies in the industry will be available.

Events & Competitions

Our Beauty students are encouraged to compete in the country’s top skills competitions, with great results. Competitions give you the chance to enhance your CV, develop your talent and demonstrate your excellence in a range of techniques.

You will also have the opportunity to showcase your skills on a model at our annual Creative Industry Showcase event.
