This course offers the chance to study all aspects of the performing arts from specific training in performance styles to front-of-house operations as part of the BoxedUp Theatre Company. As a company member you will study musical theatre, acting techniques, dance and singing in a range of styles and participate in numerous performances throughout the year.
Your classes will take place in the College’s dedicated performance studios and theatre, where you will explore a wide variety of approaches to becoming a performer in the professional world of performing arts. Workshops will also be provided by visiting performing arts professionals.
We will help you to develop your performance skills including voice and speech, singing, movement and musical theatre. Workshops will also be provided by visiting performing arts professionals.
You will have many opportunities to get involved in productions and to see professional stage shows, both locally and in London.

1 Year.
Five GCSEs at grade 9-3 including English and Maths, or a full Level 1 qualification with a stepping stone English and Maths qualification. You will also be required to prepare a short solo to showcase your specialism in either singing, dancing
or in a monologue.
You may wish to progress to a Level 3 Diploma in either Dance, Musical Theatre or Acting to develop your skills and creative expression further. This will give you more experience and open up wider opportunities for a career in performing arts. Working in the performing arts is very competitive, but professional careers for talented, hard-working young people are very much achievable.

Will I have to pay fees?
School Leavers under the age of 19 do not have to pay fees on any full time courses, though may have to pay for their second year if turning 19 during their studies.
If you’re aged 19 or over you might qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan. It’s easy to apply for and you won’t have to pay anything back until you’re earning over £27,295. Find more information on Advanced Learner Loans on our website.
If you are studying a part-time course and you receive one of the following benefits, or you depend financially on someone who does, you may be entitled to have your tuition fees waived:

You will, however, have to pay any awarding body/assessment fees (unless you are on a first full level 2 course).
* If you are in receipt of Working Tax Credit or receive other allowances, you may be eligible to claim concessionary rates. If you are entitled to a fee concession you will be asked to provide proof of your entitlement.
