This project-based programme will provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to achieve threshold competence across your chosen specialism.

Your industry placement will be at least 45-days with a digital employer to put all the skills you are learning into practice in a real-world work environment. You will gain valuable experience, additional UCAS points and develop higher Maths skills.

This blend of classroom and digital based Core Competencies and Occupational Specialisms combined with industry based learning gives you the technical skills and skilled workplace experience to kick-start your career in the digital arena.  

All Digital T Levels include an Employer Set Project covering:

  • Planning projects
  • Identifying and fixing defects in code
  • Designing and developing solutions
  • Reflective evaluation.

This course is intended for students who want to progress to a digital career with a focus on software design and development. The Digital T Levels also support working towards the RIT Tech professional IT standard.

Students will advance their skills and understanding of the software development life cycle, network environments, game development, digital transformation and languages such as C, C++,
C# and Python.

This qualification includes two A Level standard assessment papers, covering:

  • Computational thinking
  • Programming data & structure
  • Digital analysis
  • Digital value to the business
  • Physical environments, virtual environments, Cloud environments 
  • Cyber security, networks
  • Emerging technologies.

It also includes an Occupational Specialist Component, covering:

  • Analysing a problem and designing a solution
  • Developing a prototype
  • Producing material to support handover
  • Gathering and evaluating feedback to inform further iteration.

School Leavers under the age of 19 do not have to pay fees on any full time courses, though may have to pay for their second year if turning 19 during their studies.

If you’re aged 19 or over you might qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan. It’s easy to apply for and you won’t have to pay anything back until you’re earning over £25,000. Find more information on Advanced Learner Loans on our website.

If you are studying a part-time course and you receive one of the following benefits, or you depend financially on someone who does, you may be entitled to have your tuition fees waived:

  • Universal Credit
  • Income Support

You will, however, have to pay any awarding body/assessment fees (unless you are on a first full level 2 course).

* If you are in receipt of Working Tax Credit or receive other allowances, you may be eligible to claim concessionary rates. If you are entitled to a fee concession you will be asked to provide proof of your entitlement.
