Thank you for your interest in our Governor role

Want to make a difference in your community, and develop your own professional skills? By volunteering as a governor at Fareham College, you can do both!

Judged Outstanding by Ofsted in October 2017 and awarded Times Educational Supplement College of the Year in 2018, Fareham College is one of the leading colleges in the South.

We’re rightly proud of our achievements, none of which would be possible without the dedication and support of our governing body.

Our governors make an invaluable contribution to the development of excellence in our college. They set the mission and strategic direction of the College, and scrutinise its performance.

Our current governors include a journalist, an ex-magistrate, a PR exec, a teacher, a civil servant, business leaders and more. What they all have in common is a commitment to the College and a willingness to use their skills to serve here.

Further education (FE) providers like Fareham College are the unsung heroes of the UK education system. We provide high-quality academic, technical and vocational education for young people and adults. CEMAST, our Centre of Excellence in Engineering, Manufacturing and Advanced Skills Training, is a leading multi-million-pound state-of-the-art facility for engineering subjects, and our new Civil Engineering Training Centre offers pioneering civil engineering apprenticeship programmes and professional training.

We’re looking for more people to join us – becoming a governor provides great opportunities to contribute to your local community and is an excellent way of developing strategic leadership skills.

We’re particularly keen to hear from individuals with skills or a background in either Finance or Audit.
