Full Time Courses

Our full time courses are available at Level 2 and 3 and are designed to combine both the practical and theoretical elements of construction, so you have a well-rounded, confident foundation from which to progress on to working on-site.

Courses are made up of a combination of practical workshops and classroom sessions to reinforce the techniques you will develop, and ensure you are fully trained in safe working practices. Our links with employers are extensive, and you can move from a full time college-based course to complete an apprenticeship in a range of construction trades.

Course Facilities

Fareham College has some of the best construction training facilities in the area, with dedicated workshops for brickwork, carpentry and electrical installation.

Facilities and equipment includes:

  • Planing machines
  • Dedicated installation bays and assessment areas

Career Options

Once you have completed your training in your chosen specialised area, you will be ready to work on a variety of construction projects, with roles including:

  • Bricklayer
  • Carpenter
  • Electrician
  • Plumber
  • Landscaper

If you do a Level 3 qualification, you can progress on to higher level training to become a site supervisor, project manager, quantity surveyor, estimator – or you may even find yourself working in education!

An apprenticeship in Construction provides you with the best possible training to equip you with skills that are in high demand. You will have a full time job and earn a wage working in your field of interest, while also attending College, usually for a day a week, in order to gain a nationally-recognised qualification and essential competencies.

You can specialise in areas including brickwork and carpentry and, as well as learning the skills and techniques of the trade, you will also receive training in health, safety and site operation which can support future progression into planning, project coordination or management roles.

Re-developed in September 2015, Fareham’s BRC campus provides an outstanding learning environment for the 2,000 learners based at the main site.
