T Levels

Education & Childcare is one of the first subjects to be available as a brand new T level qualification. The course will be available from September 2020, and students entering Year 10 this academic year (2018/19) will be able to apply for a T level course in this specialism.

T levels will combine the career focus and practical elements of current technical and professional qualifications like BTECs and NVQs, with the theory and study of traditional A levels. There is a significant focus on work experience, and between 45-60 days will be spent in an industry placement throughout the two-year course, as well as an employer project.

Trips & Visits

You will have the opportunity to regularly work with staff and children at our on-site nursery, and get involved in community projects, trips and visits to various early years and education settings such as nurseries, pre-schools and primary schools throughout the year.

You will also do additional enrichment activities to gain extra hands-on experience including:

  • Teddy Tots sessions
  • Forest School experiences
  • Beach school experiences
  • Paediatric first aid qualifications
  • Talks and workshops with local universities and employers
